Google Nexus 10発表、10型2560 x 1600画面のAndroid 4.2タブレット。3万6800円から

Google が 新 Nexus タブレット Nexus 10 を正式に発表しました。メーカーは事前のうわさどおりサムスン。対角10インチ(10.055インチ)で2560 x 1600 WQXGA という、圧倒的解像度のディスプレイが特徴です。ピクセルの細かさを表すppi (pixel per inch)は約300。たとえば「人間の網膜の限界を超えた」とうたうアップル iPad Retina ディスプレイモデルは9.7インチ2048 x 1536ピクセルで約264ppi。

そのほかの仕様はサムスン Exynos 5250プロセッサ (Cortex-A15 デュアルコア1.7GHz駆動 + Mali T604 GPU)、2GB RAM、16GBまたは32GB ストレージ。802.11b/g/n WiFi (MIMOアンテナ+HT40)、Bluetooth 4.0、NFC、5MPカメラ、1.9MPフロントカメラ。ほかGPUや電子コンパス、ジャイロ、マイクロUSB端子、マイクロHDMI出力。

本体サイズは263.9 x 177.6 x 8.9mm、重さ603g。プラットフォームはもちろん最新のAndroid 4.2を搭載します。バッテリーは9000mAh リチウムポリマー。

Android 4.2 の搭載により、大型のタブレットとして想定される「家庭内でのマルチユーザー利用」にも対応しており、ログイン時にユーザーを選択することでアプリや写真、写真、メール、ストレージなどを分けて利用することができます。


国内価格は16GB 3万6800円、32GB 4万4800円。発売日11月13日。

プロセッサのExynos 5250 は、ARMの最新 CPUコア Cortex-A15を採用したプロセッサ。たとえば Nexus 7 の4コアプロセッサ Tegra 3 が前世代の ARM Cortex-A9コアを採用するのに対して、シングルコアあたりの処理性能が高く、電力効率が高いという特徴があります。

タブレットとしての実際の性能はメモリやクロック、OSの差もあり、実世界利用に近いベンチマークを重ねて目安とするしかありませんが、シングルスレッドの性能が効いてくるアプリでは、Cortex-A15デュアルコアのOMAP 5 が前世代アーキテクチャの4コアプロセッサに圧勝という宣伝デモもあります。
