AppleがiPhoneなど向けiOS 26.4とiPadOS 26.4をリリース！

Appleは24日（現地時間）、同社が販売するスマートフォン（スマホ）「iPhone」シリーズ向けプラットフォーム「iOS」とタブレット「iPad」シリーズ向けプラットフォーム「iPadOS」の最新バージョン「iOS 26.4（23E246）」および「iPadOS 26.4（23E246）」を提供開始したとお知らせしています。また同社では合わせてより古いiPhoneやiPadなど向けに「iOS 18.7.7」および「iPadOS 18.7.7」、パソコン「Mac」向け「macOS Tahoe 26.4」、スマートウォッチ「Apple Watch」向け「watchOS 26.4」、スマートテレビ「Apple TV」向け「tvOS 26.4」、スマートヘッドセット「Apple Vision」向け「visionOS 26.4」なども配信開始しています。

変更点は新たに「ミュージック」アプリに「コンサート」機能や「フリーボード」アプリに「Apple Creator Studio」が追加されるほか、アクセシビリティにおいて「明るいエフェクトを減らす」や「視差効果を減らす」などが改善され、またワイヤレスヘッドホン「AirPods Max 2」への対応や8個の新しい絵文字の追加、素早くタイプ入力したときのキーボードの正確さが向上するなどが行われており、さらにさまざまな不具合や脆弱性が修正されているということです。

なお、セキュリティーアップデートについてはCVEに登録されているKernel関連の「CVE-2026-28868」や「CVE-2026-28867」、「CVE-2026-20698」、「CVE-2026-20687」、WebKit関連の「CVE-2026-20665」や「CVE-2026-20643」、「CVE-2026-28871」、「CVE-2026-20664」、「CVE-2026-28857」、「CVE-2026-28861」、「CVE-2026-28859」などの38個の脆弱性が修正されているということです。

対象機種はiOS 26.4では最新の「iPhone 17」シリーズ（「iPhone Air」含む）を含めたiPhone 11シリーズ以降やiPhone SE（第2世代）以降が対象、iPadOS 26.4ではiPad（第8世代）以降やiPad mini（第5世代）以降、iPad Air（第3世代）以降、12.9インチiPad Pro（第3世代）以降および11インチiPad Pro（第1世代）以降のiPad Proシリーズが対象で、各製品にて無料で更新可能です。なお、iOS 18の対象機種だったiPhone XSシリーズおよびiPhone XR、iPadOS 18の対象機種だったiPad（第7世代）はそれぞれ対象外となり、対象外の機種ではそれぞれiOS 26やiPadOS 26にはアップデートできないのでご注意ください。

iPhone向けのiOSやiPad向けのiPadOSの最新メジャーバージョンとして先ごろよりiOS 26.0とiPadOS 26.0が提供開始されていましたが、これらに続けて新機能が追加されたiOS 26.1とiPadOS 26.1、iOS 26.2とiPadOS 26.2、iOS 26.3とiPadOS 26.3が提供されてきましたが、今回、ミュージックアプリにコンサート機能などのいくつかの新機能が追加されるほか、複数の不具合や脆弱性の修正が行われたiOS 26.4およびiPadOS 26.4がリリースされました。iOS 26.4およびiPadOS 26.4の対象機種は以下の通り。

更新は従来通り各製品本体のみでOTA（On-The-Air）によりダウンロードで行え、方法としては、「設定」→「一般」→「ソフトウェア・アップデート」から行え、単体でアップデートする場合のダウンロードサイズは手持ちのiPhone 15 Pro MaxでiOS 26.3.1からだと2.82GBとなっています。またiTunesをインストールしたWindowsおよびMacとUSB-Lightningケーブルで接続しても実施できます。なお、Appleが案内しているアップデートの内容およびセキュリティーコンテンツの修正は以下の通り。
