「全米オープン」（8月28日〜9月10日／アメリカ・ニューヨーク／ハードコート）の男子シングルス2回戦で、第5シードのマリン・チリッチ（クロアチア）とフロリアン・マイヤー（ドイツ）が対戦。チリッチが6-3、6-3、6-3と危なげなくストレート勝ちを飾った。
