2014年王者チリッチが3回戦敗退[全米オープン]

「全米オープン」（8月28日〜9月10日／アメリカ・ニューヨーク／ハードコート）の男子シングルス3回戦で、第5シードのマリン・チリッチ（クロアチア）と第29シードのディエゴ・シュワルツマン（アルゼンチン）が対戦。

チリッチは2014年に「全米オープン」を制しており、今年の「ウィンブルドン」でも準優勝するなど好調に思えたが、シュワルツマン（アルゼンチン）に6-4、5-7、5-7、4-6と接戦の末、3回戦で敗退となった。

シュワルツマンは4回戦で、第16シードのルカ・プイユ（フランス）とミカエル・ククシュキン（カザフスタン）の試合の勝者と対戦する。
