女性もセックスを語れる世の中へ！とある女性の取り組みに共感の嵐
イギリスで活動するコメディアン、フラン・ブッシュ。彼女は、30代になるまでセックスを楽しめたことがなかっただけでなく、世の中の女性の多くが自分と同じだと信じていたんだそう。これは他人のセックスの実態を知る機会がなかったことに起因すると考え、女性にとってセックスを語ることはタブーだと捉えられている世の中を問題視するように。そんな彼女が開始したのが、「16歳の自分に教えたいセックスのこと」というキャンペーン。
フランが＜コスモポリタン イギリス版＞に話した内容によれば、「16歳の頃の私は、自分の脚の間にあるものよりも、光合成やキューバ危機について詳しく語れた」というほど、自身のカラダについては無知だったそう。学校で行われた性教育で男性の射精について学ぶことはあっても、女性のカラダや性生活については習わずして育った。
「教えられたのは、女の子はセックスすれば妊娠すること、そして病気になることがある、ということだけよ。それでも、私は口でコンドームをつけることはできた。だって、それを男の子は喜んだし、セックスって男の子をハッピーにさせるためのものだと思っていたから」
一方でフラン自身はセックスを楽しめず、いつも苦しい思いをしていたそう。そして、セックスで感じる痛みを医師に相談しても官能小説を読むよう勧められ、まともに取り合ってもらえなかった。ずっと辛いセックスをしてきた彼女が、もっとセックスを楽しみたいと感じたのは30歳になったとき。しかし、楽しむためには、女性がセックスを語ることを“普通”にしなければならないと考えた。
「セックスについて話すことは素晴らしいことだし、大切なこと。女性の性的健康は身体の健康と同じように重要なはずなんです。だけど、女性の性生活には恥や後ろめたさがありますよね」
そこで、セックスをオープンに語るコメディショーを作り、さらに「16歳の自分に知ってほしいセックスのこと」というキャンペーンを開始。コメディショーに集まった観客にも同じく、昔の自分へのメッセージを送ってもらっている。
コメディショーなどで集まった十人十色のメッセージは、フランのInstagramでシェアされている。
